Solidarity Summer School – Free and on-line

Sign up for an intensive, free online learning program in the summer of 2023 organized by The Faculty of Philosophy of the UPJPII in cooperation with International Center for Study of Phenomenon of Solidarność. The Solidarity Summer School is a new intensive, international learning program offered by the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow. You will learn about the Polish experience of solidarity that changed the world – it contributed to the fall of communism and the end of the Cold War. Excellent lecturers from Poland and the world will bring you closer to the historical context of the emergence of solidarity in Poland and its concretization: trade union NSZZ "Solidarność", show how the idea of ​​solidarity was shaped in Polish philosophical thought and society will illuminate the importance of solidarity for European identity and together with you they will think about what to do next. Can this Polish experience of solidarity be transferred to other countries? What does solidarity mean today, in the light of the changes and possibilities of our times? How to implement solidarity in the global economy? Listen and discuss with experts and participants from around the world. Seminars in groups of up to 10 people.

  • choose one of the two editions of the school: June 26–30 or July 10–14, 2003
  • sign up and participate for free (Recruitment starts June 5, 2023)
  • take part from anywhere in the world – meeting in a convenient online form
  • receive a certificate confirming the learning outcomes and the acquired 2 ECTS points

The program is intended only for people who have the status of a student during its duration. All classes will be held in English, on-line on the Webex platform.
