Dr. hab. Paweł Polak

In 2001, dr. Polak earned his MSc in IT at the AGH University of Science and Technology. Then, in 2004, he received his Ph.D. in philosophy at the Pontifical Academy of Theology (later, the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow). Dr. Polak obtained his habilitation in Philosophy in 2013 at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków. He is also:

  • Holder of Chair of History and Philosophy of Science at Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow
  • Editor in Chief of the scientific journal “Zagadnienia Filozoficzne w Nauce” (Philosophical Problems in Science)
  • Vice-President of the Commission on the Philosophy of Science of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (2015-2019, 2019-2021)
  • Member of the Commission on the History of Science of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences
  • Member-expert of Committee for the History of Science and Technology, Polish Academy of Sciences
  • Associate member of the International Center for Formal Ontology (Warsaw University of Technology)
