Dr. Jakub Synowiec, Ph.D.
Dr. Jakub Synowiec, Ph.D. former Vice dean and Head of Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy (2018-2024). He is a Chair of Ethics at the Faculty of Philosophy and the coordinator for studies in English at the Faculty - you might know him from email correspondence regarding our studies! He is also a memebr of a Local Ethical Comittee for the experiments on animals and the Vive Director of the association of frieds and alumni of the university as well as the Vice Director of the Executive Board of the International Center for the Study of Phenomenon of Solidarność. He is also a Director of Solidarity Summer School.
Research interests: Ethics, Applied Ethics, Metaethics, Ethical argumentation, Ethics of Peter Singer, Animal Ethics, Effective Altruism, Personalism, Utilitarianism, Longtermism, Dialogue between secular philosophy and Christian Ethics.
